Why train to teach? Social Justice - I grew up in a council house in Birmingham and thankfully my parents realised the value of education. I have been able to improve my life because of my education and I want to enable my students to do the same.
Secondly, having previously worked in the Science and Engineering industry for 16 years, I have experienced first hand, the lack of diversity in this field. I want to actively encourage female and BAME students that they can be successful in those jobs.
