Initial Teacher Training
In collaboration with 40+ partner schools and Teach First's SCITT programme, we hope to offer over 100 training places each academic year.
Why train with us?
Futures Teaching Alliance is committed to recruiting and training enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about becoming outstanding teachers.
We recruit trainees in partnership with Teach First to provide School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT). Our goal is to ensure that all of our ITT trainees graduate, prepared and inspired, to create an exceptional and inspirational learning experience for pupils.
Our Initial Teacher Training provision was identified as ‘Outstanding’ by Warwick University in 2017 and our Director of Teacher Development, Aidan Jenkins, has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship within the Centre for Teacher Education at Warwick in recognition of his partnership work over a number of years.
During your training you will have specialist help from our Professional and Subject Mentors and develop your practical skills in the classroom, whilst gaining a theoretical understanding of the education profession and the process of learning.
At the end of your training you will be awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and be designated as an Early Career Teacher (ECT). You will also be awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and 60 Masters credits.
Futures Teaching Alliance seeks to 'Build Brighter Futures Together'. Our values are based on the core principles of 'Learners First; No Barriers; It's About Learning'. We believe in recruiting outstanding individuals who have the ability to become exceptional teachers. Within the alliance there are a range of schools in diverse contexts, including OFSTED 'Outstanding Providers', a 'World Class School' and another that has been awarded 'Transforming' status by the SSAT within the Framework for Exceptional Education.
We have outstanding teachers working every day with students and colleagues in learning communities. Schools within Futures Teaching Alliance are committed to Initial Teacher Education and to the career development of all trainees, through a planned and coherent high-quality Continuing Professional Development and Learning programme that supports the personal and professional development of teachers.
