Train with us. Make a Difference. Teach

Meet Halena.

Halena completed her Initial Teacher Training with President Kennedy Teaching School Alliance this year and is excited to begin her new role as an NQT in English at President Kennedy School from September.

Name: Halena

Age: 22

Education: BA English at University of Birmingham

Teaching Subject: English

Why train to teach? I went into teaching because I had heard lots of people say it was a really rewarding job - for me, it is important that I enjoy my job as much as possible. My training year has proved to me that teaching is 100% the profession for me - I enjoy it too much to leave and shaping the minds of young people is an honour.

Why PKTSA? There were two reasons I chose PKTSA. The first is that I had heard lots of amazing things about the Alliance and after doing my research, I knew that I would receive the best quality experience from outstanding teachers and lots of support to go with it. The second reason was because as an ex-student of President Kennedy School, having had a really positive experience at the school myself, I wanted to be a part of that for future generations of students.

We will be following Halena throughout her NQT year from September and bringing you updates as she goes through her first year of teaching. Until then, watch this space over the summer for hints and tips on getting through your ITT from Halena and other trainees from within PKTSA.
